For generations, the people of Northwest Ohio have exemplified determination, sacrifice, and a sense of resiliency. Each of these characteristics has come to define the region. In a similar way, the Catholic Church in Northwest Ohio has endured more than a century of change, serving as a testament to the lasting faith and dedication of both clergy and laity.
The diocese is blessed to cover a geographic landscape that contains 19 counties in Northwest Ohio. Within this expansive area, 122 parishes are home to a Catholic population of an estimated 320,000. To serve this extensive population, more than 151 diocesan and 40 religious priests, 183 permanent deacons, and 371 religious sisters have devoted their lives to engaging the faithful through the ministries of our beloved Church.

O God, our generous Father,
the saving death and glorious resurrection of your Son
renews your Church in every way for the work of the Gospel.
Ignite in the hearts of your people the fire of love
that burns in the heart of your Son.
Inspire in us a lively generosity
for the selfless service of our brothers and sisters.
Invigorate our commitment to follow more closely Jesus,
our Shepherd and Savior.
May the Holy Spirit, who brings Christ to life in each of us,
prompt all our efforts for the success of our Living Christ campaign.
May Mary, our Mother, and all the Saints intercede for us
to be joyful witnesses to the Redeemer at work within us and among us.
